Miami University hired Amity Noltemeyer as the Dean of the College of Education, Health and Society (EHS).

Noltemeyer has been a faculty member at the university since 2010. She was chair of the Department of Educational Psychology from 2018-2021 before becoming associate dean of the graduate school.

Appointed as interim dean in January, Noltemeyer spent that time building relationships and trust within EHS and learning more about the college’s programs and impact. Noltemeyer helped foster a collaborative environment as an aim for success for the last nearly 15 years.

She plans to continue providing support and opportunities in her upcoming role. Some of her immediate focus areas include external funding, enhancing the college’s state and national reputations and enhancing the EHS student experience with quality advising and building a sense of community.

“I love the work I’m doing, and I love coming into the office every day,” Noltemeyer said. “I really believe in the things we’re doing in EHS. I’m excited we get to continue that progress and continue the trajectory we’re on.”

Noltemeyer started her new position as dean of the college on Dec. 1.
