GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WILX) – 8th through 12th-grade students got the chance to learn more about space and science on Sunday with the Go for Launch Program.
The Go for Launch program gives students a unique opportunity to collaborate with space industry professionals while also trying to overcome some of the challenges real astronauts might face on their journeys.
” I love being able to train our future stemness explorers and astronauts,” said Higher Orbits founder and CEO Michelle Lucas. “These students that are here today are the ones who are going to be. All the things that take us into the next decade of the exciting innovations that are happening. I feel so fortunate to get to work with these students, who could be the first person to walk on Mars or maybe the person to cure cancer. You just never know.”
The students who participated in the Go for Launch program also competed in a friendly competition were the winning students experiments will be sent to the international space station.
